Documents log & ABCD review codes
Cross-project documents log, review workflow, and the formal ABCD reviewer response framework used to return comments to originators.
ABCD reviewer response codes — what they mean and when to use them
ISO 19650 · CIC BIM Protocol alignedWhen a document is returned from review, a single-letter response code is issued. The code tells the originator whether they can build from it, whether they must revise and resubmit, or whether the document was for information only. Use the codes exactly as follows:
Relationship to ISO 19650 status codes
- A or B → document moves from S3 to S4 (Published / Suitable for Construction)
- C → document stays at S3 or reverts to S1; a new revision must be issued
- D → document is filed at S2 (Suitable for Information) — never promoted to S4
Reviewer discipline — common mistakes to avoid
- Do not mark a document B when a comment materially affects dimensions, loads, capacities, or interfaces — that is a C.
- Do not leave a document at A to avoid a resubmission cycle — unresolved errors become CE/claims exposure.
- Do not use D to bypass review obligations on contractor deliverables — D is for reference material only.
- Every code must have a named reviewer, a date, and a comments schedule attached to form a defensible audit trail.

Mobile app — site operations companion
Glove-friendly, offline-first, camera-centric. Field engineers, foremen, HSE officers, and inspectors use the mobile app to capture site reality and feed it back to the PMO.
Core field flows
- 📸 Snag capture — photo → auto-tag GPS + zone + user → snag form → syncs when online
- ⚠ Incident/Near-miss report — severity picker → voice memo → witness list → immediate notify HSE
- 📝 Permit to Work — scan PTW QR on laminated board → approver receives push → biometric sign
- 🔍 Inspection request — select ITP hold point → result + photo → notifies PM
- 📋 Daily diary — guided form: weather, manpower, plant, progress, delays, visitors
- 🛠 Materials receipt — scan delivery docket barcode → mill cert attach → storage location
- 🎙 Voice-to-text RFI — press-and-hold to dictate; question transcribed; attach photo; file
- 🗺 Location-aware drawings — GPS plots current location on site plan; latest drawing per zone
